I love tulips but so do the deer, groundhogs, squirrels, and, oh yes, the chipmunks. Years ago, I planted a few knowing it was futile. Although they struggle to come up every year, this year I actually have one bloom. Since there is only one; I enjoy it all the more.

I had a similar experience when I planted bulbs. The few flowers that did come up were quickly eaten.
I wonder what others do to keep their tulips seemingly unharmed? Do they put a chemical on the beds to keep animals away?
What the heck do they do in Holland? They've got millions of tulips there, or are there so many because there is strength in numbers?
