It is that time of year when the doldrums have set in and the tulips are at the grocery stores. It snows every night and the world has been white for weeks. But having a colorful reminder in the house that yes, winter will end in a few weeks (better than thinking it will take months), helps me get through after I come in from shoveling yet again. Have you started buying spring flowers yet?

A splash of color in winter
It is that time of year when the doldrums have set in and the tulips are at the grocery stores. It snows every night and the world has been white for weeks. But having a colorful reminder in the house that yes, winter will end in a few weeks (better than thinking it will take months), helps me get through after I come in from shoveling yet again. I've had a vase of purple tulips in my office for over a week now.
I haven't yet, but I was oh so close yesterday.
This is a very beautiful photo. Love the light on the tulips and the color of the background. :)
LOVE tulips. My favorite. And yes, I've started forcing hyacinths. They smell fabulous! I've been pouring over garden book for a month dreaming of spring. Thank goodness Feb is a short month!
